“Bags of St. Lucy Love” –

A Girl Scout Gold Award Project by Julia Yu, St. Lucy Altar Server Captain

COVID-19 has halted our Bingo games, cancelled our Holiday Bazaar and stopped the social events that bring our St. Lucy Community together. Altar Server Captain Julia Yu, an 11th grade Girl Scout, is launching her Gold Award project to bring together our St. Lucy Community and fight back against COVID.

Julia’s project is to create “Bags of St. Lucy Love” – Christmas gifts of cheer – to be given out at church in December and delivered safely to our homebound parishioners. The bags will include a variety of small gifts tailored to each recipient, from St. Lucy keychains and pens to plush guardian angels to puzzle books and notepads to poinsettias and candy canes and more.

**We will have a Packing Party in the Parish Hall to put together these small gift bags on Saturday, December 12, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.**

Everyone is welcome to attend, with a special invitation to our youth and families! We’d like to have all of our young people volunteer to help create and deliver the bags to our St. Lucy parishioners who aren’t yet ready to return to Mass. And, of course, all donations are welcome!

For more information, or to sign up – either to help deliver a Bag or get one! – please email Julia at BagsofStLucyLove@gmail.com or call the Parish Office.

Julia’s goal is to reconnect our community and create 200 Bags of St. Lucy Love. Won’t you please help?

Welcome to a community of faith, working through love.
